About me…

I come from a family of cooks, chefs and bakers. So you could say producing good food is in my genes! I have an immense passion for the healing power of food having experienced the effects first hand. The food we eat affects every cell in the body; it can make the difference between feeling ‘all right’ and feeling ‘great’. I do not believe in following a diet and I truly believe that home cooked, whole, natural food is the most positive step you can make in taking control of your health. However, everyone’s body is unique and reacts in different ways to the foods we feed it. I aim to show you the link between your symptoms and the food you may be eating. I will show you alternatives and how to procure and produce healthy food. I will inspire you to make changes as you gain control and bring the body back into balance. I will work with you to create a new lifestyle, something that works for you. My work is focused on the unique nutritional needs of an individual; the degree of biological variation between individuals is too vast to guarantee that the same treatment will have the same effect for everyone and therefore I don’t have a one size fits all approach.

I do not believe in following a restrictive diet and I truly believe that home cooked, whole, natural food is the most positive step you can make in taking control of your health.

Qualifications and further studies…

I am a qualified chef, trained in the classical French style and I have updated my skills over the years. For example: I studied nutritional cooking skills at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

I also graduated in 2000 reading a BSc in Food Science and Nutrition at Bath Spa University and am currently studying for my MSc Nutritional Therapy at the renowned University of Westminster.

I am also registered and regulated by the British Association for Applied Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and fully insured as a Nutritional Therapist.

I will always continue to increase my knowledge by attending current seminars and conferences as well as keeping up to date with the latest research.

My Approach…

My approach is hands-on and personal with a focus on a food first approach. On booking your consultation I will ask you to fill in a questionnaire which is to be sent back to me for preliminary analysis before the initial consultation. During the initial consultation, lasting approximately 1 hr, I take a detailed case history from you building on the information from the questionnaire and may advise on clinic tests and supplementation. Depending on the consultation package and the information provided we will work together to agree on a programme for you to follow. Together we will set goals that will work to enhance the systems in the body such as digestive function, strengthening the immune system, balancing blood sugar levels and helping the body’s natural detoxification pathways. There will be a focus on home cooking using whole, fresh, natural foods. Ideas and recipes will be provided.

What you can expect…

As a nutritional therapist and professional chef, I provide expert advice that enables you to make lifestyle changes and consume the foods to help you to optimise your health, wellbeing and quality of life. I use a careful, detailed assessment to define the unique needs of those who seek my nutritional guidance. Where required, I will request permission to communicate with your primary care physician or specialist to ensure cross discipline continuity of care. The care and wellbeing of all individuals seeking my care remains paramount.

In the initial consultation we may discuss the need for functional laboratory tests to fully investigate the underlying causes of your displaying symptoms as well as the use of supplements if needed.
